I finished all the cleaning of my house last night! My house is spic and span so when I come back from vacation I will only have to wash my clothes then put them away! I am a little concerned about leaving Billy Elliot all alone now. Of course my friend Debbie will be by every night to feed him and make sure that there is fresh water and scoop the box. When I adopted him 9 years ago he came into a house with 2 other cats. Mindy and Sam. I know he will be fine and maybe he should enjoy it while he can because the first Saturday I am back he is getting a new little brother that will be giving him a run for his money so to speak. There is nothing better than a little kitten, they are such fun balls of fur! I am even guessing Billy will loose weight playing and running after him. Buster the kids Boxer did when they brought Cooper home a few years ago. I had stated in Monday’s post that my local shelter is a “no kill shelter” so it is not as hard to pick out a kitty because you don’t have to be worried that the other ones will be euthanized that you don’t pick. They have volunteers that foster the cats or dogs that don’t get homes then they have animal fairs at our local pet stores to try to adopt the pets out. I donate money every year to support them.

I want to thank everyone for all their concern and wonderful comments about my loss of Sam. After the shock the profound sadness set in and weighed on me heavily the rest of the week. I did go back to work on Wednesday and had dinner plans with Debbie Wednesday night which was very nice. We ate at a restaurant near the kids new house so I could show it to her. The house is officially theirs now, the escrow closed on Thursday. Also on Thursday Chris and I went to see the play C.H.I.P.S the musical presented by the Troubadour Theater Company at the Falcon Theater, it was very funny and three of the actors were in Garry Marshall’s movie this year Valentine’s Day that I recognized. We now have season tickets, so that will be a lot of fun. We had dinner at a restaurant that was owned by Paul Newman called Hampton’s which is across the street from the theater.. He sold it in 95′ and it became Mo’s but the menu stayed the same. They are famous for their creative hamburgers and hamburger bar. I usally get a salad but I splurged and got a turkey burger on a wheat bun smothered in cranberry sauce and it was fabulous.

My 12 year old cat Sam is gravely ill. It happen all of a sudden. I did not work yesterday I took him in first thing to the vets. He has very enlarged kidneys, I was ready to put him to sleep BUT the Dr. wants to wait until the blood tests results come back today to show how his kidneys are functioning. I know of course they are not and even if they were I asked him then what? He could not answer me. So Sam had another night at home getting his head scratched and sleeping with me. I will not be going to work today either. When I get the call I will take him in and we will do the humane thing by putting him to sleep. I have been thru this many times before and it never gets any easier. I am finding it is harder as I get older. My Mindy I put to sleep 5 years ago she was 14 years old. I am going to be on a blog break this week. I will post all next week before we go on vacation. I really wish this had not happened so near my 60th birthday. But life is life and sometimes you just have to roll with the punches! And I am rolling right now!
