Today after work I am heading to the kids house for an extended weekend. A few weeks ago we planned a little “Girls Getaway” for this weekend in Palm Springs for Lisa upcoming 42nd Birthday on Monday March 1st. It will be Chris (Mom), Belinda (best friend) Lisa (DIL) and I. I booked two rooms at the Palm Canyon Resort & Spa for the weekend. I have stayed there before and it is a very nice hotel and they are reasonable priced too. We have 2 suites with a bedroom with a king bed and a living room that has a queen pull out. They have all the spa services on their premises. So on Saturday we have massage, body scrubs and facial appointments. We are going to have an early dinner somewhere local and then see Menopause the Musical at 7:30 about 1 mile from where we are staying and on the same street. I am sure Lisa will want to hit the new casino’s after the play so it will be a long night out. I don’t gamble but I have fun going to the casino’s just the same. Sunday we are going to have breakfast before we head back and do a little shopping. I am going to be at the kids house until Monday night, after we go to dinner for Lisa’s Birthday I will head home. I have my yearly physical scheduled for Tuesday morning. See you back on Tuesday.

Few people know that my son Paul was named after Paul McCartney. George and Paul were my favorite Beatles, but I did not want to name him George so Paul it was. Paul just found out a few years ago that I had named him after Paul McCartney of the Beatles and he was quite amused by that. Well, the reason I bring this up is that I just found out that Paul McCartney will be in concert here in Los Angeles next month and not where I saw him 4 years ago with Debbie at the Staple Center. He will be at the Hollywood Bowl which really surprised me since it is outdoors and not as many seats as the Staple Center. I was there with Debbie to see the Beatles play in 1964 and that was the last time and only time Paul had played there. So this is very nostalgic for Debbie and I both. Tickets were announced to go on sale this Sunday for his concert on Tuesday March 30th. I am not wild about seeing him at the Bowl because even good seats are kind of far away from the stage since they have a pool in the front of the stage. Last time front row seats were going for $5000-$20,000 a ticket at the Staple Center, we paid $500 a ticket and had pretty good seats and we could actually see him without binoculars and he did not look like an ant. So much to my surprise I saw they were already on sale on eBay even before the Hollwood Bowl put them on sale? I can’t figure how that is, but it is? And the seats for even $500 are not that good at all I was so hoping that I could find some decent seats that weren’t a fortune. When Debbie and I were there to see the Beatles in 1964 they left in an armored truck that I proceeded to jump on to see them looking out the windows at me. I was 14 years old and it was worth the danger at the time since I was a real Beatlemanic! I guess unless a miracle happens I won’t be seeing Paul this year boo hoo!

Dinner was fun last night with the kids. I did not get home until after 9:00 so this is going to be a short post. The kids stayed the night and are going back home today. Justin of course did not come with them he has to go to school and Natasha his older sister works so it was just the two of them at home with Buster, Cooper and Oreo the cat.

Last night was my bi weekly standing nail appointment. After my nails I headed home and had chicken kabob’s w/ brown rice for dinner and watched the season finale of “Men Of a Certain Age” with Ray Romano on TNT. I really like this quirky new show. It also stars Andre Braugher, Scott Bakula, Penelope Ann Miller & Lisa Gay Hamilton. Ray Romano is also the creator, writer and producer of this show.
