It was a hot, hot weekend. We have a few separate fires plaguing our area. The one near my work is about 60% contained. I did not end up going to see Halloween 2 on Friday at 12:30 AM after work. I was feeling too tired and the fact of having to be back to work at 10:00 AM the next day cinched it for me. I am not a fan of that shift for sure. I look forward to going back to my 3:30-12 next Saturday. I did absolutely nothing Saturday but work, went home made dinner and watched TV.

Last night after my haircut I picked up Zankou Chicken for dinner on my way home. It is rotisserie cooked chicken with a side of hummus, garlic paste and pita bread. It is a must if you have one near your home. I think they are just in Southern California though. The chicken is so moist it melts in your mouth.

On my way in to work yesterday the sky was completely filled with smoke from a forest fire we have in our local mountains. It is about 1/2 way between my home and work. Yikes!! it was so stinky too! I felt like my clothes and hair smelled of smoke all day long. The last report was there were some structures in danger and they were issuing an evacuation warning yesterday in the AM. Not houses. Our summer was a pretty low fire season for the first time in years. We really did not get that hot this summer like previous years, which was very nice. But we tend to always heat up in Sept. and Oct.

The first day back to work I was told I have to take 4 days off before the end of the year. No problem here. I love days off. So next weekend Labor Day weekend I am working at the Hospital of course all weekend including Monday the Holiday, at Holiday pay! I will then take Tuesday 9/8 for my first day off, then the weekend of my Jewish Holiday Yom Kippur, I will take that weekend off from the Hospital and then Monday & Tuesday off, 8/28 & 8/29. Then in Oct. I will schedule another weekend off at the Hospital and take another day off with it! I am a very happy camper that I have some days off to look forward to since I am a 7 days a work week girl again!!
