*UPDATE my cell decided to unfreeze, of course I wouldn’t stop checking it like a crazy OCD person! It probably will happen again so I have the back up cell all programmed in my purse. It is so easy to activate a cell nowadays*

Oh what a night I had when my 17 month old cell went kapooie!!! I was having some freezing issue and then it just finally froze up and all I could do was use the phone part of it only! Verizon really couldn’t help me on the phone since I couldn’t navigate the phone to do anything except dial. So I begged them to let me get an early upgrade since I am due one in August and my plan was to get a iPhone 4S for a big discount $199 instead of at full price at $749, they just would not bend on that. They told me the earliest I could get the upgrade would be in July. So I called the kids house frantic to see if they still had their Blackberry phones? Paul’s was not working but Lisa’s was, it was a little scratched up but it worked. So I activated it for now! I am not wild about the camera it has some kind of lines going thru the viewer and it has those same lines on the pictures you take, she thinks she may of dropped it at one point and did that. I was able to get all my pictures, contacts and apps back. Facebook for some reason will not let me use their “check in” feature on this phone, something is wrong with the GPS but I can live with all of these issues until July I am sure. Hey! I didn’t have to spend a penny. The deductable if you have their insurance is $50, no way am I throwing $50 away to get a refurbished cell for just a few months. So I will suck it up and be happy I have a cell to use. I am going to just for the heck of it swing by Verizon over the weekend and show them the frozen cell and see if they can do anything and if not have them take a look at the one I am using to see if they can figure the GPS thingy out. The camera part I am sure is something internal. The phone was thrown in a drawer for the last 4 years. Lisa had a Thunderbolt since this phone, now the whole family have iPhones. Once I get mine we will be a iPhone family. Even Chris Lisa’s Mom got one last month.

Another working weekend of course. Joe and I have a comedy show on Sunday at the UCB Theater at 9:30. Have a great weekend.

The heat was on let me tell you. I walk 2 miles a day at work with 2 other employees on our 2 breaks and in the afternoon yesterday that walk was hard since it was so hot. It looks like we will cool down a little bit today. The news is calling it a cooling trend. Our walks usually stop in the afternoons when we are smack dab in the middle of Summer it is just to hot to walk then. We try to keep to our morning walks all Summer long.

I made my mind up yesterday to not work at the Hospital on Memorial Day. I usually work since I get paid at my full time job for the day and then I get paid double time at the Hospital so it is like almost working 24 hours in just an 8 hour day. I will work the weekend at the Hospital of course but will take advantage of my paid day off with a day off. My next days off aren’t until July when I am taking 3 vacation days with a weekend off at the Hospital and backed up against July 4th. So that will be a good 6 days off and only Friday night Saturday & Sunday I will not get paid for since I don’t get vacation days at the Hospital. I sure wish I did but I still get a really generous retirement from them.

Last night was a lot of fun at Doug Loves Movies as usual. We had a few TV celeb sightings as we were standing in line for the show. Here were his guests in the pictures below.

The 2 celebs we saw were both from TV one was Adrian Grenier of the great long running HBO show called Entourage and the second actor was at the UCB theater at a show before us, he has been on Harry’s Law quite a few times his mame is Matt Cook he has played a DA and I saw him on Two Broke Girls last week.

Tonight going to visit the kids at their house and pick up the 4 Wheel Auto Parts gift card that Lisa picked up for me to give to Paul for his Birthday on Monday.

I had a wonderful weekend and Mother’s Day and day off Monday. Lisa outdid herself with the spread she had for 40 people. We had BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans and loads of salads, veggies and loads of desserts. I got off work at 2:30 and headed there right after work. At around 5:30 Joe texted me that Doug Benson had tweeted that they were going to have a Surprise Movie Interruption at the Cinefamily Theater at 8:00 but to come at 7:00 and bring something for a pot luck. I said my goodbyes at the kids house and headed to the market to get a cheese, meat and crackers platter and a large pre-sliced cheesecake and met Joe by the freeway to head to Hollywood. We got there and they have a great patio right off the back of the theater where everyone was eating and drinking and mingling with Doug Benson and the comedians that were going to assist him in the Movie Interrupton. They interrupted Sylverster Stallone’s Over The Top from 1986, what an awful and corny movie but funny as heck interrupted by Doug and his guests. We already had tickets for the UCB theater for a show at 11:00 Shitty Jobs which we made with 1/2 hour to spare since it was just a few miles from the Movie Interruption and had seats right in front on the stage as usual. The show was really funny. I would do that show again if I have another Monday off since it is late at 11:00.

Monday Joe and I went to see The Avengers and I loved it!! I think even more than Joe did. I was never ever a super hero fan until I went to see and show support for Robert Downey Jr and his comeback in the first Iron Man. I then became hooked. I loved Mark Ruffalo as the new Hulk even better than Edward Norton I think? It was a great movie and of course we stayed for the 2 surprises after the credits because we know they are famous for doing that nowadays in a lot of movies.

Tonight is our weekly Doug Loves Movies at the Uptight Citizens Brigade so we got a double dose of Doug this week!

I am working all weekend BUT I am taking Monday off because Joe and I are going to a late show Sunday night at the Uptight Citizens Brigade Theater at 11:00 PM called “Shitty Jobs” with Ben Schwartz and 7 other comedians. The concept is everyone remembers that one nightmare job they used to have. They interview a random member of the audience about their worst job, then they spin it into fully improvised show filled with creepy bosses, depressed co-workers, and jerk-ass customers. It’s about feeling better about your own life. And couldn’t we all use more of that? I actually remember way more than just one nightmare job I have had in my lifetime. So this sounds like a lot of fun. We have been wanting to go for along time but because is it every Sunday at 11:00 PM that is way to late on a night before work to stay out. So since it is Mother’s Day the day before we both decided to take Monday off. Lisa is having a Mother’s Day BBQ and swim party at their house on Sunday. I work the early shift so I might just scoot out an hour and 1/2 early and get there at 3:00. Lisa as usual is going to have a big shindig with about 35 people there. Sisters, friends and family.

Monday Joe and I are going to an early matinee of The Advengers in 3D and have a late lunch afterwards. So that is my big weekend! Have a Happy Mother’s Day weekend and I will see you back on Tuesday!
