Dru’s Dippity Do Da’s

I would love to say I had a great weekend but it was kind of sucky and I might add I don’t have many sucky weekends. I don’t like where they moved us at the hospital at all. Even though it will only be for three weeks until they finish all the repairs to our office from the flood we had. The no TV situation drove me crazy and the bathroom down the hall was not a good thing either. I just made sure I did not drink any liquids for the 5 hours I was by myself on Friday and Saturday. Sunday was not as bad since I worked the 10-6:30 shift with co-workers. Also on my dinner break on Saturday night I noticed my car felt like it was loosing power a little and sure enough the check engine light came on, so at least I knew I wasn’t imagining it and that there really was something wrong. Two weeks ago I had a problem which was fixed, a sensor had to be replaced and it has nothing to do with what it is going on now with my car. I have been very lucky and have had almost nothing other than a new battery for my little 2002 Ford Focus with 150,000 miles. My worry was missing work again but the good news is the kids now live here so I was able to use Paul’s Mustang to go to work today. Chris followed me over to drop the car off at the mechanics on my lunch break and I will dropped the mechanic’s on the way to work to give them my keys.

The kids will be in town today for Justin’s senior pictures. Can you imagine taking them before school even starts? I think it odd. His first day will be next Monday. The kids will be moving to Chris’s Granada Hills property on Saturday and they will stay there until Paul is finished with the Burbank house about 8 months. They will now only be 15 miles away from me as opposed to 90 miles. But eventually they will be 2 miles away when they move to Burbank. I have this weekend off because I am going to a fundraiser at the Geffen Theater on Saturday with Chris. I will tell you more about it later on in the week, so I will be able to help Lisa unpack on Sunday at the house in Granada Hills. Chris is heading to Murrieta Wednesday to help them pack. I am very excited about the big move! We are all meeting up for dinner tonight before they head back home to finish packing the packing.

Justin picked all his classes out for school yesterday. Lisa and Justin left and Lisa won’t be down for a week or so. This weekend coming up she is having a Birthday party for her friend Belinda. Paul had to submit the electrical plans to the architect and as soon as he gets them back today he has to take them to the City of Burbank. So he most likely will be leaving today and coming back this weekend with Justin to work on the house. I got my car washed right after work last night. I love that the car washes are open after work during the summers since we are light until 8 p.m. I am also happy that I don’t have to use my precious time on the weekends to do it. I wanted to do a little Costco shopping last night but will put that off until Wednesday night I just wanted to go home eat dinner and relax instead.

Last night I had dinner with Debbie. The first time we were able to get together since I came back from Lake Tahoe which was only 3 weeks ago but seems like a lifetime! I had some Lake Tahoe goodies for her. I got her a really cute T shirt that had Lake Tahoe on it. The new souvenir stores now carry such cute clothes that you can really wear them instead of it just being a T shirt that you throw in a drawer. I got her a great hand painted coffee mug also. And some stuff from Virginia City when we were in one of those nostalgia stores. I got some Beatle’s live posters. We had dinner at Tallyrand which I might add will be back on TV next week. Huell Howser’s California Gold on PBS/KCET on Monday 8/3 at 7:30 p.m.
