Happy Friday the 13th! |
|
I love Friday the 13th. I have always found it a good day for me. Some people seem to be superstitious about it. I am not a superstitious person at all even though I do knock on wood just in case

A New Week Ahead! |
|
This last weekend was uneventful compared to the weekend before in Palm Springs and at the kids house. Saturday it rained most of the day while I was inside until I had to go to work a 3:30. I decided to hold off on using my new steam cleaner until we have a sunny day so the carpet will dry faster. I pretty much got caught up on all my recorded shows in my DVR and still have not watched my 2 Netflix DVD’s, I think I might go back to one at a time now for awhile. Sunday of course the Oscars were on I watched all the Red Carpet coverage at the Hospital and then the Oscars that started at 5:30 until I left at 6:30. I met Chris at her house and she followed me to the body shop to drop my car off which is very close to her house in Toluca Lake. She then took me to the Burbank airport to pick up my little rental car. They said it would take 3 days to fix my cars bumper so I reserved the rental until Wednesday night. I rushed home and had a late dinner of a stuffed chicken breast with cheese and asparagus with a small salad and watched the rest of the Oscars. I was very happy with Jeff Bridges winning Best Actor for Crazy Heart and Best Actress Sandra Bullock. But I am really thrilled that for the first time ever a woman won for Best Director, Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker. And the Best Movie was The Hurt Locker!! It is about time a woman shines in that catagory!

I did not get up to hear the Oscar nominations live at 5:00 AM yesterday but I did hear them all at 6:30 AM. I am very happy with the best actor nominations, one of the nominees being Jeff Bridges, and hope he is a shoe in like they are saying? They said that about Mickey Rourke last year who won all the best actor awards except at the Oscar’s, that went to his friend Sean Penn for Milk. I am also rooting for Sandra Bullock for best actress, Meryl Streep is nominated for the 16th time, she has Katharine Hepburn and Jack Nicholson beat by 4 nominations, they both have had 12 nominations each. Best movies, I am not sure which one I am rooting for yet? It really isn’t that great of a list in my opinion except for maybe Ivan Reitman’s “Up in the Air” or Kathryn Bigelow ’s “Hurt Locker”. I usually see all the Oscar nominated movies. I still have a few I have not seen yet on the list. I always look forward to the Oscar’s every year. They are on Sunday March 7th and I know I will be watching them at the Hospital and running home to my DVR to see what I missed while driving home at 6:30. Thank goodness for DVR’s!

All Fixed! |

Yesterday at work I decorated our office like I have done for the last 7 years. I really never thought I would be doing this again this year just a few short months ago when I was home after being laid off from there. So this was a treat for me. A real time to celebrate that they called me back to work. They always get a fresh tree for the reception area so I spent a few hours decorating that. It came out looking really good. We have a fake tree I will decorate for the conference room where will have our Christmas party this year on the 23rd.
