Yesterday was a beautiful blustery day. The skies were clear blue with a few big white puffy clouds along with lots of cool winds blowing through. Our rainy weather is over for awhile and we should be back up in the 70’s again this week. it sure is feeling like Spring now! Last night I swung by Chris’s house right after work and dropped my check off for her to give to the body shop that is repairing my car. It will be ready today. Paul will be in town so we will do the car thing and then have dinner. I am going to suggest a place that M’onique who won the Oscar for Best Supporting actress talked about on Oprah’s after Oscars show Monday. It is called Uncle Andre’s in Studio City, so I thought Paul might want to try something new and it is close by. I looked at the menu online to see what they have besides the chicken she raved about. Sandra Bullock also mentioned her husbands restaurant called Cisco’s that I believe is in Long Beach I want to head over there one day to eat there too. All this talk about food has my mouth watering!
The little rental I picked up on Sunday I think it is a Hyundai? It does not say the car name anywhere on it but the logo I think is how I know it is a Hyundai. I know the model is called Accent that is on my keyring. It is a cute little car and it has Sirius/XM satellite radio so I can still listen to Howard Stern on my way to and from work the next 3 days. But the interesting thing is that the car has North Carolina license plates. It only has 7500 miles on the car so I am guessing it is a 2010 or maybe a late 2009. Paul will help me on Wednesday night to get it back to the airport and pick up my car at the body shop. He is going to come into town Wednesday instead of Tuesday this week so this works out perfect for me. Chris has a seminar she has to go to Wednesday night in Santa Monica so she wasn’t able to shuttle me around like she did on Sunday night. Last night was my nail appointment I was done by about 6:15 and headed right home to relax and eat dinner and watch a little TV. I was really tired when I woke up Monday morning after working all weekend and then looking forward to working all week at my full time job. I think when I started this 2 job business 7 years ago I needed a lot less sleep and I was 7 years younger, it is becoming a little more difficult for me to work of 64-72 hours a week. So that is why I am trying to take a weekend off about every 4-6 weeks now. I am hoping only to do this for maybe another 5-6 more years since I will be eligible for full Social Security benefits then and I can then just work one job. That is the plan! Collect SS and work at the Hospital part time.
This last weekend was uneventful compared to the weekend before in Palm Springs and at the kids house. Saturday it rained most of the day while I was inside until I had to go to work a 3:30. I decided to hold off on using my new steam cleaner until we have a sunny day so the carpet will dry faster. I pretty much got caught up on all my recorded shows in my DVR and still have not watched my 2 Netflix DVD’s, I think I might go back to one at a time now for awhile. Sunday of course the Oscars were on I watched all the Red Carpet coverage at the Hospital and then the Oscars that started at 5:30 until I left at 6:30. I met Chris at her house and she followed me to the body shop to drop my car off which is very close to her house in Toluca Lake. She then took me to the Burbank airport to pick up my little rental car. They said it would take 3 days to fix my cars bumper so I reserved the rental until Wednesday night. I rushed home and had a late dinner of a stuffed chicken breast with cheese and asparagus with a small salad and watched the rest of the Oscars. I was very happy with Jeff Bridges winning Best Actor for Crazy Heart and Best Actress Sandra Bullock. But I am really thrilled that for the first time ever a woman won for Best Director, Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker. And the Best Movie was The Hurt Locker!! It is about time a woman shines in that catagory!
This week went by very fast for me since I was off work Monday and Tuesday. This weekend is back to work at the Hospital. The only plans I really have besides work is to pick up my rental car at the Burbank airport and drop my car off at the body shop Sunday night after work. Chris will be helping me with that and then of course the Oscars are on and thank goodness for my DVR! I will catch up on what I miss since they start while I am at the Hospital. I can watch the Red Carpet arrivals and the first hour and half there before I get off at 6:30. Saturday I plan on using my new steam cleaner on my second bedroom which I call the cat bedroom since they are the only ones that hang out in there. I have a water feeder in there in case they get thirsty when they are upstairs. I know I am crazy. They have their other water feeder and dry cat food feeder in the bathroom downstairs which I call the cat bathroom, which is where their cat box is along with my washer & dryer, toilet and sink. The old days we use to have service porches where our washer & dryer’s were along with a utility sink. I think they just call them laundry rooms nowadays. Have a wonderful weekend. See you back on Monday.
